About Lisa Park

History

Lisa Park School opened its doors in 1967. The classrooms were numbered up to 22. The faculty of young teachers was led by Mr. Abel LeBlanc, principal. Under his leadership the school became established as an asset to the Terrebonne Parish School Board. The building was not air conditioned until the 1970s. By this time, twelve more classrooms had been added along with a teachers' lounge and additional restrooms. The gym was built next to the school in 1976. Lisa Park School housed grades 1 through 8. In the 1980s, the eighth grade was moved to Houma Junior High School. Then, kindergarten was moved to our school from the old Bayou Cane School. Recently, seventh grade was moved to Houma Junior High School. Eight principals have served Lisa Park School: Mr. Abel LeBlanc, Mr. Moe Chauvin, Mr. Willie Guidry, Ms. Pam Lemoine, Ms. Stacy Solet, Ms. Joanne Hergert, Ms. Terez Leblanc, and Ms. Misty Richard.
